If you want to harness your control over your own body, if you have experienced pain during exercise or yoga in the past, and if you want to deepen your self-awareness and relieve stress- you have come to the right place! Yoga is more than physical exercise; it is a transformative practice that unites body and mind to bring deeper levels of awareness and relaxation to everyday living. 

My name is Sara and I am a certified yoga instructor with a unique perspective on yoga shaped by a BA in biomechanical engineering.

As the instructor of Yoga of Hearts, I promise to individualize your practice, to empower you with tools for self-strengthening, and to help you connect with the sublime energy you have always possessed. I look forward to meeting you, creating your home practice together, and most importantly-seeing you on the mat!

Build your practice from the comfort of your home with virtual classes! For local clients, in person indoor or outdoor sessions can be arranged. Weather permitting, outdoor sessions are a great way to get in touch with nature and be inspired!

Hours

We'll work together to find a time and frequency that fit into your routine. I want you to come away with the tools you need to start or grow your home practice. Private yoga class outlines or recordings will be available through a client portal for you to access and download.

My Personal Touch

I am so honored and excited to guide you on your yoga journey! My desire to heal the world through movement is what has drawn me to teach yoga. The versatility of Yoga and the vast differences it can make in people’s lives make it especially important to me that I get to know my clients and the ways they aspire to heal and grow. What physical and mental benefits are looking for from your practice? What has drawn you to learn more about Yoga or practice yoga in new ways?

When I talk about Yoga, I refer to the eight limbs of yoga defined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. This text refers to the physical postures of yoga as Asana, defined as: “Sthiram sukham aasanam” which means, “asana is a steady and comfortable seat.” If you are not steady and comfortable, you are no longer doing yoga and the posture needs to be adjusted (or removed)! 
My degree has given me the expertise to customize your home practice in ways that are anatomically safe, yet challenging! A love for studying the human body led me to earn a BA in Biomechanical Engineering from Marquette University. My degree has informed several aspects of my yoga instruction and has given me insight to joint health (ranges of motion) and what occurs within the body during yoga. 

Since everyone has a unique musculature and shape, the goals of yoga are unique to everyone- and can be unique between each session of practice. Mind-Body awareness and self-understanding occurs in part through the personal assessment of how a pose might feel different everyday, knowing when to vary movements, and in training your body to slow down and have a single point of focus. As your instructor, it is my goal to give you the tools for self-study to access your own bodily intuition. If you’re all in, I’m all in.

Private Yoga Class Packages

Yoga of Hearts is a personalized yoga studio! Sessions are customized based on client interests, past experiences, and goals! The classes can focus on Asanas (yoga postures), Pranayama (breath-work), Sankrit Mantra, meditation, yoga philosophy, and the study of subtle body energies or chakras for a rounded yoga experience.
